A rod having length l and resistance R is moving with velocity v on a π shape conductor.
To find : The current in the rod
solution : according to Faraday's law, change in magnetic field induced emf and it is equal to negative or rate of change of magnetic field.
i.e, ε = - ∆Φ/∆t = -NBA/∆t
⇒ε = -1 × B × ∆xl/∆t
we know, rate of change of position with respect to time is velocity
so, v = ∆x/∆t
= ε = -Bl (∆x/∆t) = - Blv
now from Ohm's law, i = |ε|/R = Bvl/R
Therefore the current in the rod would be Bvl/R.
the correct option is (4)
