A radar signal is received 0.04 sec. After it was sent and reflected by an aero plane. How far is the aero plane if speed of waves is 300,000 m/s?

Given - Time - 0.04 seconds

Speed - 300,000 m/s

Find - Distance of aeroplane.

Solution - To find the distance of aeroplane through radar signal, that works on the principle of echo, the formula used will be - 2d = s*t. In the formula, d is distance, s is speed and t is time.

Keeping the values in formula -

2d - 300,000*0.04

2d - 12000 metres

d - 6000 metres

Hence, the distance between aeroplane and radar is - 6000 metres or 6 kilometres.
