SP = Rs 3120
Loss percent = 4 %
Let the CP be Rs a
Loss = 4 % of a
= 4a/100
= a/25
Now,
CP - Loss = SP
=> a - a/25 = 3120
=> 24a / 25 = 3120
=> a = 3120 × 25 / 24
=> a = 130 × 25
=> a = 3250
Cost Price = Rs 3250
Now,
When Gain % = 4 %
SP = CP + Gain
= 3250 + 4% of 3250
= 3250 + 4 × 3250 / 100
= 3250 + 3250/25
= 3250 + 130
= Rs 3380
Loss percent = 4 %
Let the CP be Rs a
Loss = 4 % of a
= 4a/100
= a/25
Now,
CP - Loss = SP
=> a - a/25 = 3120
=> 24a / 25 = 3120
=> a = 3120 × 25 / 24
=> a = 130 × 25
=> a = 3250
Cost Price = Rs 3250
Now,
When Gain % = 4 %
SP = CP + Gain
= 3250 + 4% of 3250
= 3250 + 4 × 3250 / 100
= 3250 + 3250/25
= 3250 + 130
= Rs 3380
