Given:-

  • Frequency (f) = 200kHz = 2×10⁵Hz.

  • Wavelength ( λ ) = 1500m.

  • Frequency of another station (f) =250Hz.

To Find:-

  • (a) Speed of radio wave in m/s

  • (b) wavelength of another signal ( λ ') .

Solution:-

(a)

As we know that

v = f λ

here v is the speed of wave

f is the frequency

λ is the wavelength

Substitute the value we get

→ v = 2×10⁵ ×1500

→ v = 3000 ×10⁵

→ v = 3× 10⁸m/s

The speed of the radio wave is 3×10m/s.

And Now

(b)

As from above solution the speed of radio wave is 3×10⁸ m/s.

Frequency = 250Hz

v = f λ

Substitute the value we get

→ 3×10⁸ = 250 × λ

→ λ = 3×10⁸/250

→ λ = 1200000m

→ λ = 1.2×10⁶ m

The wavelength of the another station is 1.2×10m.
