Consider N = maximum nuclei possible.

Maximum number of nuclei will be present when rate of decay equalizes witb rate of formation of nuclei.

We know,

Rate of decay = λN

Rate of formation = α

Rate of decay = Rate of formation

λN = α

N = α/λ


Hence maximum nuclei produced will be α/λ.
