 \frac{dM}{dt}  = rate \: of \: change \: of \: mass

Also,

 \frac{dM}{dt} is \: directly \: proportional \: to \: M

 | \frac{dM}{dt} =  -  | kdt

where k is constant

 =  log_{(M)} =  - kt + c.......1

at \: t =0  \:  \:  \: m =  {M}0

so \:    log(m)  = -  kt +  log(m0) ......2

at \: t = h \:  \:  \:  \: m =  \frac{1}{2} m0(half \: time)

 log( \frac{m0}{2} )  =  - kh +  log(m0)

log(m0 ) - log(2) = - kh +  log(m0)

 log(2)  = kh

k =  \frac{1}{2}  log(2)
