Answer:

" Total time of rest is 43 minutes. "

Solution:

Given, radius of the circular playground, r = 21 m

Then its circumference

= 2πr m

= 2 * (22/7) * 21 m

= 132 m

In each jump, the monkey covers 3 m, then total number of jumps to cover the circumference is

= 132 / 3 = 44

After each jump, the monkey takes one minute rest but to count the time of total rest while covering the circumference, we must understand that after its 44th jump, the circumference will be covered so that time taking rest will not be counted.

Thus total time of rest is

= (44 - 1) minutes = 43 minutes

Answer:

43 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question

We have been given that,

Radius of the circular playground, r = 21 m

One monkey covers 3 meter in one jump and takes one minute rest in between consecutive jumps.

We need to find the total time of rest the monkey will take for covering the circumference of the playground.

Then circumference of ground

= 2πr

=2\times \frac{22}{7}\times 21

= 132 m

In each jump, the monkey covers 3 m, then total number of jumps to cover the circumference is

= \frac{132}{3}\ =\ 44

After each jump the monkey takes one minute rest. Therefore, after 44th minutes the circumference of the ground will get covered. Therefore we will not count the 44th min.

Thus, total time of rest is

= (44 - 1) minutes = 43 minutes
