A railway engine starts shunting wagons by first going 1000 m. north of railway station it was Travels 1250 M. south and then it again moves 600 m. north. Finally moving 800 m. South,it comes to rest. How far is the engine from station and in which direction?

450m south of railway station

siddu5494: It's ok... I have wrote the route in which the person moves as per the question. He moves in North or South direction ,so i can't draw it on the same line. so i drawed it little side way
