A railway truck of mass 4000 kg rolls into a stationary truck of mass 6000 kg at a velocity of 8 m/s. After the collision the trucks are joined together. What is the velocity of the two trucks immediately after the collision?​

m1 = 4000kg               m2= 6000kg

u1= 8m/s                      u2 = 8m/s

v1= v2 =v ( because they are joined together)

m1 *u1 +m2 *u2 = m1*v1+ m2* v2

4000 * 8 + 6000*8 = 4000V + 6000V

32000+ 48000 = 10000V

80000 = 10000V

\frac{80000}{10000} = V

∴ the velocity after collision will be 8m/s
