A rain drop starts from a cloud at a height of 100 m and is acted upon by a uniform accelation of 8 ms-2 on account of friction of air. Calculate, when and with what velocity, it will reach the ground level.

since , s=ut+1/2at^2

          100=1/2x8xT^2

or          t^2=100x2/8

             t=5seconds

v=u+at

v=0+8x5

v=40m/s
