Given : a⁴ - b⁴

To Find : factorize

Solution:

a⁴ - b⁴

= (a²)² - (b²)²

Using the identity

x² - y² = (x + y)(x - y)

x = a²

y = b²

= (a² + b²)(a² - b²)

using x² - y² = (x + y)(x - y) again

x = a , y = b

=  (a² + b²)(a + b)(a - b)

a⁴ - b⁴  =  (a² + b²)(a + b)(a - b)
