SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

The ramp, Distance from the ground, and the horizontal distance between the front door and the ground forms a right angled triangle.

Let the length of the Ramp = AB = 13 feet.

Height from the ground = BC = 5 feet

Let the horizontal distance between the front door and point = CA

Applying Pythagorus theorem in ∆ABC

AB² = BC² + AC²

13² = 5² + AC²

169 = 25 + AC²

AC² = 169-25

= 144

AC = ✓144 = 12 cm

Hence, The answer is 12 cm
