Answer:

Range defines the difference between the largest observation and smallest observation.

Like if we are given with 13 , 14 , 15, then the Range would be largest number - smallest number

So, Here, the largest number is 15

And the smallest number is 13

So, 15 - 13 = 2

So, it's range is 2.

In the same manner, here,

Range = 13.67

Largest value = 70.08

Let the smallest value be x,

So,

Range = largest number - smallest number

13.67 = 70.08 - x

x = 70.08 - 13.67

x = 56.41

Smallest value is 56.41.

Another example to understand range even more simpler.

For example, if we are given with 20,3,25

The greatest number here is 25

The smallest number here is 3

So, 25 - 3 = 22

So, it's range is 22.

Gɪᴠᴇɴ:

  • Range of data = 13.67
  • Largest number = 70.08

T ꜰɪɴᴅ:

  • Smallest number

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ:

Actually what is range

Range: Range means the difference between the largest number and the smallest number.

Form : Greatest number - smallest number = Range

Where

  • Greatest number = 70.08
  • Range = 13.67
  • smallest number = ?

_______________________

Let,

The smallest number be ‘x’

→ 13.67 = 70.08 - x

→ x = 70.07 - 13.67

→ x = 56.4

.°. Smallest number in the data = 56.4

Example:-

Data = 25 , 50 , 75

Range = greatest number - smallest number

Here,

  • greatest number = 75
  • smallest number = 25

Range = 75 - 25

Range = 50
