Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Two numbers :-

\dfrac{1}{2} and \dfrac{2}{3}

To Find :-

Rational number b/w those numbers :-

Solution :-

As they both numbers have different denominators, Lets equate the denominators,

L.C.M of 2, 3 = 6

\dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{1}{2}\times \dfrac{3}{3}\\\\= \dfrac{3}{6}

\dfrac{2}{3} = \dfrac{2}{3}\times \dfrac{2}{2}\\\\= \dfrac{4}{6}

By these number we cant predict the middle number, so lets equate denominators to '12'

\dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{3}{6} = \dfrac{3}{6}\times \dfrac{2}{2}

\dfrac{6}{12}

\dfrac{2}{3} = \dfrac{4}{6} =  \dfrac{4}{6}\times \dfrac{2}{2}

= \dfrac{8}{12}

Now, rational numbers b/w "6/12 and 8/12" is :-

7/12

i.e rational number b/w 1/2 and 2/3 is "7/12"
