0 is a rational number between -1 and 1/2.

Another method is to represent both numbers as fractions with same denominator,

in this case , -2/2 and 1/2.

Now all numbers between -2/2 and 1/2 = -1/2, 0

If you want more numbers , express them as a fraction with same but greater denominator,

In this case, -4/4 and 2/4

So here we can get more numbers like -3/4, -2/4, -1/4, 0 , e.t.c.
