Let the rational number be x

According to the question :

(5/2)x+2/3=-7/12

(15x+4)/6=-7/12

15x+4=(-7/12)×6

15x+4=-7/2

30x+8=-7

30x=-15

x=-15/30=-1/2

Hence the required rational number is -1/2.
