A rational number is such that ,when you multiply it by 5/2 and add 2/3 to the product ,you get -7/12. what is the ?​

Solution:

We have been given that when we multiply it by 5/2 and add 2/3 to the product ,We get -7/12.

Let required number be x.

By the Given Condition:

x*5/2 + ⅔ = -7/12

⇒ 5/2x + 2/3 = -7/12

⇒ 5/2x = -7/12 - 2/3

⇒ 5/2x = -7 -8/12

⇒ 5/2x = -15/12

⇒ 5/2x = -5/4

⇒ 5x = -5/4*2

⇒ 5x = -5/2

⇒ x = -5/2 ÷ 5

x = -1/2

Therefore, Required Number is -1/2.
