Answer:-1/30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the rational number be - x

Now,

        As per question,

                 (5/2)x +(2/3)=(7/12)

SOLVING LEFT HAND SIDE,

            [(5*3)x + (2*2)]/6= 7/12

         =>30x + 8 = 7                    [multipying by 12 on both sides]

         =>30x = -1

         =>x= -1/30

.'. ,The required rational number is (-1/30)

Let the rational be x.

According to the question,

x × (5/2) + 2/3 = 7/12

⇒ 5x/2 + 2/3 = 7/12

⇒ 5x/2 = 7/12 – 2/3

⇒ 5x/2 = (7- 8)/12

⇒ 5x/2 = -1/12

⇒ x = (-1/12) × (2/5)

⇒ x = -2/60

⇒ x = -1/30

Therefore, the rational number is -1/30
