a ray diagram to
allon of image and calculate the focal length. Is the lens is converging or diverging?
11. Where should an object be placed from a converging lens of focal length 10 cm, so as to obtain a virtual image of
magnification 2?
12. At what distance should an object be placed from a convex lens of focal length 15 cm to obtain an image three
times the size of the object?
13. An object is placed at a distance of 1.5 cm from a screen and a convex lens is interposed between them. the magnification Produced is 4. What is the focal length of the lens

Answer:

The object should be at a distance less than the focal length from the convex (converging) lens in order to get a virtual image. The image formed would be upright, virtual and magnified, just like how a magnifying glass works. The virtual image is produced on the same side of the lens as the object.
