A ray is incident on the surface of glass plate of refractive Index √3 . What is the value of angle of incidence, if reflected light is completely polarized P.

it is given that, refractive index of glass , \mu = √3

we know, when reflected light is completely polarized , \bf{tani=\mu}

where i denotes angle of incidence and \mu refractive index of glass with respect to medium.

so, tani=\sqrt{3}=tan60^{\circ}

or, i=60^{\circ}

hence, incidence angle = 60° , if reflected light is completely polarized P.
