The angle of incidence of the ray is :

Given : Refractive index = 1.5 , mu1 = 1

• Also given that angle between the reflected and refracted rays is 90, that means light after reflecting gets completely polarized.

• Rays is traveling from air to glass medium.

Using Snell's law,

mu1 sin i = m2 sin t

where t = transmitted ray angle

• angle t + angle r = 90

• And we also know by reflection law that,

• angle i = angle r

1×sin i = 1.5×sin(90-r) = 1.5×cos r = 1.5×cos i

sin i / cos i = 1.5

• tan i = 1.5 => i = tan^-1 ( 1.5 )
