A ray of light goes from a denser medium to a rarer medium, will it bend towards the normal or away from the normal?

When a ray of light allows going from denser medium to rarer medium then it will bend away from the normal. When the light goes from denser medium to rarer medium the speed of light get increased and it gets bend away from the normal. We can define the refraction property of light on this basis.  

Opposite of this occurs, when the light goes from rarer medium to a denser medium, the speed of light gets decreased and a ray of the light bend towards the normal.
