We need to draw a diagram ,

According to diagram,

In the diagram AB is the incidence ray when AB ray enters the glass slab then it bends toward the normal line and AB ray get refracted on the glass slab.

Now, refracted ray travels through the glass slab and at point C it comes out of the glass slab.

The ray BC goes from glass to air it again gets refracted and bends away from normal line and goes in direction CD.

Here, AB is incident ray and CD is emergent ray and both are parallel to each other.

Hence, A ray of light incident on a rectangular glass slab immersed in any medium emerges parallel to itself.
