A ray of light incident on one face of rectangular glass slab emerge from the opposite face of the slab parallel to the direction of the incident ray. why does it happen so?

It is 0°. As the angle of incidence is the angle between incident Ray and normal. If the incident Ray falls normally then the incident Ray and normal coincide , so the angle of incidence is 0.
