Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

d = 19.29°

◆ Explanation -

# Given -

i = 50 °

r = ?

# Solution -

Using Snell's law,

n = sini / sinr

1.5 = sin50 / sinr

sinr = sin50 / 1.5

sinr = 0.766 / 1.5

sinr = 0.5107

r = sininv(0.5107)

r = 30.71°

Deviation of light rays is -

d = i - r

d = 50 - 30.71

d = 19.29°

Hence, angle of deviation by refraction through glass is 19.29°.

Hope this helps you. Thanks for asking..
