A ray of light strikes a plane mirror XY at an angle of incidence of
30°, is reflected from the plane mirror and then strikes a second plane mirror YZ placed at right angles to the first mirror. What is the angle of reflection for the mirror YZ?

Explanation:

incident ray of first mirror = XY

angle of it = 30°

incident ray of second mirror = YZ

so, it looks like

l

l

l => second mirror

90° l

___________l

first mirror

(i = r ) => reflected angle = 30°

so sum of three angles in Tri . = 180

30 + 90 + /_ YZ = 180

YZ = 180-120

YZ = 60° .. so, reflected angle also be it only ...
