Formula : u = sin i / sin r .( u = meu)

Given:

Angle of incidence = 40°.
Angle of refraction = 29°.

Solution :

u = sin i / sin r
u = sin 40° / sin 29°
u = 0.6428 / 0.4848
u = 1.32

Therefore, the refractive index of water is 1.3u.(meu).

RI = sin i /sinr

sin i = sin 40 = 0.6428
sin r = sin 29 = 0.4848

Rl = sin i / sinr

= sin 40/sin29

= 0.6428/0.4848

= 1.325
