A ray of light travelling in air enters obliquely into water. does the light ray bends towards the normal or away from the normal? why?

The light ray bends away from the normal because of the refraction of light

A ready of light when falling obliquely into water from air it will bend towards normal.
this is because water is optically denser then air.
