A Ray of light travelling in air strikes a glass slab at an angle of 30 degree calculate the angle of refraction if refractive index of Glass is 1.5

MidA: angle 30° with surface of glass slab or with normal at the point of incidence ??
rocksamyadav: with the normal

sin \: i \:  =  {30}^{0}
refractive \: index \:  = 1.5
ref \: index \:  =  \frac{sin \: i}{sin \: r}
sin \: r =  \frac{1}{3}

guejjdjsjs: answer is 19.5°

A/Q to snell's law

µ1 sinΘ1=µ2 sinΘ2

sin30=1.5 sinΘ2                   µ1=1 (for air)

(0.5/1.5)=sinΘ2

0.333=sinΘ2

therefore sinΘ2=19.8

or Θ2= sin^(-1)1/3

guejjdjsjs: answer is 19.5°
rocksamyadav: so what.. but it was close
