A ray of light travels along the principal axis of sperical mirror in which direction will it be reflected and why?

The Object is always placed on the left side of the mirror so that the direction of incident light is from left to right. Since the incident light always goes from left to right, all the distances measured from the pole of mirror to the right side will be considered positive.

For plane mirror it passes in the same path as of the principal axis .

For concave mirror the ray simply rebounds in the same path.

For convex mirror it is the same case as the plane mirror.

For concave lens the ray suffers no deviation and moves in the same path.

For convex lens,the ray simply rebounds back in the same path.
