A ray of white light incident on a glass prism gets
separated into its various components of colours. If ,
d, and 8, are deviations of colour of light 1, 2 and 3
respectively with respect to original incident ray, then
rays 1, 2 and 3 can respectively be

(1) Blue, green and yellow

Ray 1,2 and 3 will be red, orange and yellow respectively.

Explanation:

  • When a beam of light or sunlight passes through a glass prism it splits up into different components of light.
  • The white light splits up into red, orange, yellow, green, blue , indigo and violet color.
  • These different colors have different wavelength. The amount of deviation depends on the wavelength of the light.
  • Longer the wavelength, less frequency and lesser will be the energy and vice versa.

According to the sequence of splitting the ray 1,2 and 3 will be red, orange and yellow respectively.
