ANSWER

For a first order reaction

rate constant k is given by

 K \:  =  \:  \frac{2.303 \: }{t}  \:  \times  log_{10}( \frac{a}{a - x} )

where a = initial concentration

a-x = concentration at time t

here

a = 0.5 mol/l

a-x = 0.05 mol/l

t = 6 min

On putting values

 K \:  = 0.38 \: min
