- The sentences, with the preposition "by" before the the subject are in passive voice.

Why the word "by" is necessary in passive voice?
Yes, it's a necessary component that must be written in passive voice because, as we know, the sentences are said to be in passive voice if the subject receives the action or in other words, the subject is the receipent of the action in a sentence. So, if the subject performs the receiving action, then there should be a word to say that it receives the action. And the preposition 'by', which is generally used to tell by whom/which something was happened, can say that the subject receives the action in the sentence.
