My dear father,
I was so glad to get your letter yesterday and at the same time ashamed for my performance in school examinations. I read your letter just after my school. It seems years since I last saw you on January this year. It seems ages to the dewali holidays, when you will be able to come home. I know you have been working hard for supporting my studies and taking care of all my needs. My dropping performance in maths and science is the result of typhoid for which I wasn't able to study properly before my exams. I can assure you that I will not give you a chance to complain about my scores in future.
I do feel embrassed for my performance but i will do my best to make you proud of me. I miss you dad hope you will come home soon. Keep writing letters to me and let me know how you getting on.
