Given:

A recipe that makes 4 servings calls for Two-thirds cup of flour. How much flour is required to make 20 servings?

To find:

How much flour is required to make 20 servings?

Solution:

Firstly, we will find the quantity of flour needed for 1 serving.

For a recipe of 4 servings we need → \frac{2}{3} \:cups of flour

∴ For a recipe of 1 serving we need → \frac{\frac{2}{3} }{4} cups of flour = \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{1}{4} cups of flour

Now, we will find the quantity of flor needed for 20 servings.

For a recipe of 20 servings we need,

= \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{1}{4} \times 20

= \frac{2}{3} \times 5

= \frac{10}{3}

we will convert into mixed fractions

= \boxed{\bold{3\frac{1}{3} \:cups \:of\:flour}}

Thus, \underline{\bold{3\frac{1}{3} }} cups of flour is required to make a recipe for 20 servings.
