A rectangle and a parallelogram have equal altitudes. The base of the rectangle is 22 cm and that of the parallelogram is 28 cm. What is the ratio of their areas?

area of rectangle = l x b

= 22 b

and area of parallelogram =

= 28 b

ratio = 22b / 28b

= 11/14

b=28,h=X

their ratios=area of rectangle/area of parallelogram

=l×b/b×h

=X × 22/28 × X
