Given :-

  • length of the rectangle = 8 cm
  • breadth of the rectangle = 6 cm
  • perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square

To Find :-

  • find each side of the square ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  \underline{\boxed{ \bold{perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2 (l + b)}}}

 \bold{: \implies 2(8 + 6)}  \\  \\   \bold{: \implies 2 \times 14 }  \: \:  \:  \\  \\ \bold{: \implies 28 \: cm}   \:  \:  \:

and it is given that,

  • perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square

  \implies \bold{perimeter \: of \: square = 28 \: cm} \\

and we know that

 \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{perimeter \: of \: square = 4 \times side}}}

 \bold{ :  \implies 4 \times side = 28} \\  \\  \bold{:  \implies side =   \cancel\frac{28}{4} } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{:  \implies side = 7 \: cm} \:  \:  \:  \:

hence, each side of the square is of 7 cm
