A rectangle and a square have the same

Perimeter of square=4×length of one side

∴ length of one side =perimeter of square/4

                                 =100/4

                                 =25 m.

According to the question,

Breadth of rectangle=length of side of square-2 m.

                                  =25-2

                                  =23 m.

perimeter of rectangle=2(length + breadth)

                               100=2 ( length+23)

                               100/2=length+23

                               50-23=length

                               27=length

Area of rectangle=length × breadth

                            =27×23

                            =621 sq.m.
