GIVEN ;

A rectangle and Square have the same perimeter = 100cm

TO FIND ;

The side of the square = ?¿

We know the formula ;

{\green{\overline{\green{\underline{\blue{\boxed{\orange{\mathtt{Perimeter \:of \:square = 4 × \:side}}}}}}}}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣P = 4 × s
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣100cm = 4 × s

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣\frac{100}{4} = s
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣25 = s

Side = 25cm

Now ;

if the rectangle has a breath of 2 cm less than that of the square.

⟹ Breath of rectangular = (side of square - 2)

~~~~~~~~~~~~⟹ (25 - 2)cm
~~~~~~~~~~~~⟹ 23cm

Breath = 23cm

TO FIND ;

Length of rectangle = ?¿

Area of rectangle = ?¿

So ;

Let length be = x

We know the formula ;

{\green{\overline{\green{\underline{\blue{\boxed{\orange{\mathtt{Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breath)}}}}}}}}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ 100cm = 2(x + 23)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ \frac{100}{2} = (x + 23)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ \cancel\frac{100}{2} = (x + 23)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ 50 = (x + 23)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ 50 - 23 = x
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ 27 = x

Length = 27cm

Now ;

We know the formula ; (To find area)

{\green{\overline{\green{\underline{\blue{\boxed{\orange{\mathtt{Area of rectangle = length × Breadth}}}}}}}}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ A = 27cm × 23cm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~➣ A = 621cm²

Area = 621cm²

Side of square = 25cm

Breadth = 23cm

Length = 27cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 100cm

Area of rectangle = 621cm²
