Here Capacity of tank ( in litres) = 42000 litres

We know that capacity (in litres) = Volume(in m³) × 1000 --- ( ii)

volume of rectangular tank = volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height -(ii)

from ( i ) and ( ii )

Capacity = length × breadth × height × 1000

42000 = 6 m × 3.5 m × height × 1000

height = ( 42000) ÷ ( 6 × 3.5 × 1000)

height = 2 m

∴ Depth of water = 2 m
