Question:

A rectangle garden is 30 m long and 20 m wide. A path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the garden, find the area of the path.

Answer:

75m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the path= length(l) * breadth(b)

length=30m

breadth=2.5m

Area=l*b

       =30*2.5

       =75m^2

QUESTION :

  • A rectangle garden is 30 m long and 20 m wide. A path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the garden, find the area of the path.

GIVEN :

  • A rectangle garden is 30 m long and 20 m wide

  • A path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the garden

TO FIND :

  • find the area of the path = ?

SOLUTION :

  • rectangular garden length = 30 m

  • rectangular garden breadth = 20 m

area rectangular garden = l × b

  • area of rectangular garden = 30 × 20

area of rectangular garden = 600 m²

then, we have to find the area of path :

garden length with path = 30 + 2.5 + 2.5 = 35

garden breadth with path = 20 + 2.5 + 2.5 = 25

then,we have :

  • garden area with path = length × breadth

  • garden area with path = 35 × 25

  • garden area with path = 875m²

thus ,

  • path area = 875 - 600

  • path area = 275m²

so, area of the path = 275m²
