a rectangle hall dimensions are 30 m and 20m. How many tiles will be then fix, if the tile in square having size 10m.​

As for the problem stated above, The dimension of the hallway and the tiles are different. You have to convert first the units to match up each items. You may convert the tiles (in centimeters) to meters to match the hallway dimension or vice versa.

I decided to maintain the hallway dimension because it is easier for me to do so,

The area of the hallways is : 15 meters x 12 meters = 180 square meters

Step 2: Get the area of the tiles to be used.

I converted the tile dimension to meters to match up the hallway dimension.

30 centimeters = 0.30 meters

20 centimeters = 0.20 meters

Therefore, The area of the tile is : 0.30 meter x 0.20 meter = 0.06 square meters

Step 3: Divide the floor area to the tile area to get the quantity of tiles.

180 square meters / 0.06 square meters

= 3,000 pieces of 30cm x 20cm tiles is needed for a 15m x 12 m hallway.
