Let the sides of the rectangle be 7x and 5x respectively.

According to the problem,

2(7x+5x)=96

=>24x=96

=>x=4

Therefore, the sides are:

7×4=28cm

5×4=20cm

Now,in the question,it is clearly stated that the sides are in the ratio 7:5 and no clue about the length is given.

Hence,the length is either 24cm or 28 cm.

Hope this helps you.
