Step-by-step explanation:

let the width be x

therefore it's length is x+6

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

46=2(x+6+x)

46/2=2x+6

23=2x+6

23-6=2x

17=2x

17/2=x

8.5=x

therefore it's width is 8.5

and it's length is 8.5+6=14.5
