The length, breadth, and area of the rectangle is 120 m, 40 m, and 4800 m² respectively.

• Let the length of the rectangle be l.

Let the width of the rectangle be w.

(Width means breadth of the rectangle)

• Given,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 320 m

Length is three times the width

=> l = 3w  -(i)

• We know that the perimeter of a rectangle is given by the formula : 2 (length + width)

=> 320 m = 2 (l + w)

=> 320 m = 2 (3w + w)  [Putting l = 3w, from (i)]

=> 320 m = 2 × 4w

=> 320 m = 8w

=> w = 320 m / 8

=> w = 40 m

Therefore, width of the rectangle is 40 m.

• Now, putting the value of w in (i), we get,

l = 3 × 40 m = 120 m

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 120 m.

• Area of a rectangle is given by the formula : (length × width)

=> Area of the rectangle = 120 m × 40 m

=> Area = 4800 m²

Therefore, the area of the rectangle is 4800 m².
