Answer: The square with side of 48 cm has a greater area than the rectangle by 54 cm.

Step-by-step explanation: First we find the area of the rectangle:

Area of rectangle   = l × b

                                 = (50 × 45) cm²

                                 = 2250 cm²

Area of Square         = s × s

                                 = (48 × 48) cm²

                                 = 2305 cm²

If the compare the areas = 2250 cm² <  2305 cm²

⇒ Hence the square has greater area than the rectangle by 2305 cm² - 2250 cm² = 54 cm²
