A rectangle have lenght and breadth 5:3 if its perimeter be 40 cm then what is its area

length:breadth=5:3

l=5x,

b=3x

p=2(l+b

40=2*(5x+3x)

=2*8x=16x

therefore x=40/16=2.5

therefore l=5x=5*2.5=12.5cm

b=3x=3*2.5=7.5 cm

therefore area=l * b = 12.5 * 7.5 =2817.5 sq cm
