Let us take a rectangle ABCD in which AC is a diagonal

AB=35 cm

BC=12 cm

AC=?

By Pythagoras theorem

AC2=AB2+BC2

AC2=(35)2+(12)2

AC2=1225+144

AC=1369

AC=37 cm.

Therefore, diagonal of the rectangle =37 cm.

Solution:

As,

Length = 35 m

& Breadth = 12 m

 \bf \large {  diagonal =  \sqrt{ {l}^{2}  +  {b}^{2} } }

 \implies d =  \sqrt{ {35}^{2} + {12}^{2}  }

 \implies d =  \sqrt{1225    +  144}

 \implies d =  \sqrt{1369}

 \implies d = 37

Hence,

 \large \bf{ \boxed{ \therefore diagonal = 37 \: m}}
