Answer:

Formula to be used here :

\boxed{\sf{Perimeter = 2(l+b)}}

Length = 8 m

Breadth = 5 m

Perimeter = 2 ( 8 + 5 ) = 2 ( 13 ) = 26 m

Double the perimeter = 26 × 2 = 52 m

\sf{\therefore \:The\:perimeter\:of\:the\:other\:rectangle = 52 m}

Length of new rectangle = 8 + x

Breadth of new rectangle = 5 + x

Perimeter = 52 m

=》 52 = 2 ( 8 + x + x + 5 )

=》 26 = 13 + 2x

=》 13 = 2x

=》 x = 6.5 m
