Refer to the attached image.

Since, a rectangle is divided into four rectangles with area 70, 36, 20 and x.

" In a rectangle if we divide the rectangle by a line segment horizontally and vertically the ratio of  areas of any two adjacent  regions are equal"

Therefore,

 \frac{70}{x}=\frac{36}{20}

 70 \times 20 = 36 \times x

 \frac{70 \times 20}{36}=x

 \frac{1400}{36}=x

 \frac{350}{9}=x

So, the value of 'x' is  \frac{350}{9} .
